The main types include ultrasonic repellers that emit high-frequency sound waves inaudible to humans and pets but annoying to pests, electromagnetic repellers that use the electrical wiring in your home to create an unfriendly environment for pests, natural repellents using essential oils or other natural substances, and chemical repellents with active ingredients to deter pests but can sometimes pose risks to pets and humans.

When choosing a pest repeller, think about the type of pest you’re dealing with, the safety of the product for your pets and family, the coverage area you need, how easy the product is to use, and its effectiveness based on reviews and research. For example, we found that ultrasonic repellers work great for small to medium-sized areas, effectively keeping mozzies and flies at bay. One model we tried, the Ultrasonic Pest Repeller, was particularly effective in our kitchen and living areas.

Electromagnetic repellers are fantastic for larger spaces and are especially good at dealing with rodents. We had great success with the Electromagnetic Pest Guard in our garage and basement, which drove away rodents without using harmful chemicals. Using these repellers together has significantly reduced pest activity in our home, making it safer for our family and pets.
